The responsible one who finally built something of her own.
For decades, I was the responsible one (wife, mother of three, business builder) holding everything together while quietly building something of my own.
After earning two university degrees and walking away from what I thought was my dream career, I chose full-time motherhood. That season shaped me. It built discipline, resilience and perspective. And eventually, it led me back to business, but this time on my own terms.
Over the last decade, I've built sustainable online businesses, grown serious income and helped other women do the same. Now I'm doing it through structure, discernment and leadership.
My first business started in a tiny kitchen in Perth, Western Australia. I was a tired mom who quietly wanted to stay home with my kids, and I really didn't want to go back to work. Then a woman named Sandy told me I could share my story, build a business and create my own financial independence, all while staying home with my family. That one conversation planted a seed I've been growing ever since.
That seed became network marketing, then coaching, then social media strategy. I built two brands of my own, Ignite Your Inner Bliss and The Midlife Mom, sold high-ticket programs for one of my mentors and coached women inside Brand Me on Demand™. Personal development became my religion: vision, goals, habits, manifestation. I believed in “the Universe,” something bigger that was always listening. But God? God felt like rules, guilt and judgment. So I stayed in self-made control mode.
I didn't grow up with a strong faith. We went to church, I sang in the choir and I loved Sunday school, but it never followed us home. Years later my mother told me she had wanted my brother and me baptized, but the church asked for $10,000. Suddenly it made sense why I'd kept religion at arm's length for most of my life.
The seeds came quietly. My husband gave our daughter his grandmother's Bible, The Possibility Thinkers Bible. Then in July 2022, after 22 years in Australia, we moved our family back to Canada and I finally met my friend Natalie in person after five years of friendship over Facebook and Zoom. She told me, “God doesn't want your religion. He wants a relationship with you.” For the first time, faith didn't feel like something to fear. It felt like peace. That was the beginning of my relationship with Jesus, and it led me to the baptism I never had as a child.
Faith didn't erase the hard parts, but it gave me somewhere to put them down. It also changed how I build. I stopped hustling to prove my worth and started building from trust. Sitting at my desk with 22 years of journals, training and business strategy stacked beside me, I knew I was meant to lead and serve at a higher level. That's why I created The Midlife CEO™.
Today, I lead midlife women from over-functioning into integrated authority: spiritually anchored, clear on the value of what they know and well paid for it in their second act.
